My First Day Holiday in Melbourne
It has been quite a while since my last posting. It’s because i was away for holiday to melbourne. I went to melbourne with my wife and parents in law on 6th of January till 11th of january 2007. I fly there using Jet star and i got pretty good deal, around $84 one way. I reckon its because it is off-peak period already. I thought it could be a delay for the flight, because i heard from some friend, jetstar used to have a lot of delay. But its on time this time and i’m very satisfied with the service.
One of my best friends , wendy , picked me up from avalon airport because he said that he live in Point cook which is located on the middle of melbourne city and avalon airport. So we went to wendy’s place first in point cook. Its brand new house with 5 bedrooms, and its huge. It only cost around $350k for him to build the house, which is very cheap if you compare to the house price in Sydney. For $350k, you only can buy 2 bedroom unit apartment in suburb. We stayed in wendy’s place for 1 hr then wendy’s drive us to my wife’s uncle place in south bank.
At 2 pm we catch a taxi from south bank to Radisson hotel on flagstaff garden. I booked the hotel using wotif.com site and got pretty good deal as well. It cost me only $109/night. Radisson on flagstaff garden address is on 380 William Street and nearby Queen Victoria Market. After check in , i decided to go to the queen victoria market, but apparently its closed already. Then i walked around the city till we get to the chinatown to find something to eat. Radisson is not really close to the china town though, where you can find a lot of place to eat. It might takes 15 minutes to walk from china town to the hotel. We decided to try the vietnamese noodle soup in meekong Vietnamese restaurant. Its yummy, and the portion is big. I ordered the medium size and i already feel very full . I can’t imagine how can people finish the big size bowl noodle soup. After dinner, we went to coles supermarket for while to grab some items then we went back straight to hotel to have a rest.
