Sony ericsson K608i battery BST-37

sek608iMy Sony Ericsson K608i suddenly cant be turned on anymore. I checked back the warranty, unfortunately the warranty is only 1 year and its ended already on last december.  I read from other mobile phone forum , people said said that i need to bring it to sony ericsson authorised dealer. The thing is the service centre is not really close to city , where i stayed i right now. So i went to three shop where i sign up before in market city, and i ask the staff there if they could test my mobile using new battery, because i dont want to bring it long way to the service centre and then find out that actually its only because the battery is void. I suspect either the batter is void, the charger is broken, or the worst thing is the handset problem. Apparently they dont sell the battery there, but i was lucky because the staff there actually got one same mobile handset SE K608i as well. So he try to use his battery on mine then we find out its working. So, the problem is the battery! The three staff said it will cost around $90, but they dont sell it. 

bst-37So i went home, and try to search on ebay the BST-37 Battery for sony ericsson K608i. Quite a lot of seller on ebay but just some of them is aussie seller. And one thing is i’m not really sure its an original one or fake one. Because for sure fake one wont last longer. But because the price different between  what the seller on ebay quote as “genuine” with the fake one is very different, i decide to give a try on the cheap one which only cost around $10 including shipping fee.  It might takes a week till i get it because it will be shipped from hongkong. I will post again here the quality of the battery once i tested it by myself.

If anyone got any experience before with this battery, please share it with me here. thx.

    I’m having the same problem with my k608i. It suddenly won’t turn on and won’t charge. I’ve already tried another battery but I’m not sure it’s the right one. If i charge the phone it will show that it’s charging (pink light turns on). But when I turn the phone on it just lights up but stays blank then turns off.

    Any suggestions?

    Oddly enough, I as well have the same problem. I took the battery out one without turning the phone on put it back in and it wont turn on. When i charge it the little red light just stays on but there is no action going on around the screen.

    So if anyone knows anything please tell me because i am dying without a phone.

    hey guys
    my k608i wouldnt turn back on after it froze (which i then had to remove the battery to restart it)

    my k608i has the exact same problem except that the screen does not show anything when charging and only the red light flashes

    i have tried batteries from other phones such as nokia 5200, sony z.. with the same mah,voltage,
    the phones flash light flashes when battery is inserted which shows that the battery is working but the phone itself still wont start..

    plz help my phone has all my contacts still saved inside!!

    hehehe…i think we have same problem…
    but my battery to fast drop out of power…wkwkwkwk…
    i think, the battery is not the original battery…even it’s BST-37 .
    is there more specific type battery of this SE K608i?
