Miss indonesia in Miss universe 2006
Miss universe 2006 contestant from indonesia “Nadine Chandrawinata” has become a hot news in indonesia recently. Why? simply just because she is wearing bikini for the swimsuit presentation show. for you guys who dont really know the conditions in indonesia, i will try to explain to you in short sentence.
For Indonesia people, wearing only a bikini is something that they will curse, because its not polite and too vulgar. Well, me myself as an indonesian actually dont agree at all with those people in indonesia who keep against nadine chandrawinata decision to wear bikini in the contest. For me, as long the timing, moment and place is appropriate, then its ok.
I dont know, but maybe because i stay quite long time as well in australia, which might change the way i’m thinking. but still ,i personally dont agree with those people who curse what she did. Because she did it for indonesia, for her country, and to make indonesia name better in the international public.
The worst thing, is that the media in indonesia now criticize her english. C’mon man….. english is not her first language, and stop criticize her because i think she did better than what you did for your country.

As you can see from above interview, Nadine Chandrawinata, she did make a couple of mistake when trying to answer the question in english. But i think her english is not too bad overall, it might be just because she is very nervous when try to answer those questions. even she is not even in the top 20 miss universe 2006, i’m very impressed with her, because she is gorgeous, and good luck to you nadine!!
